Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Temporary Lawn Maintenance Associate.

About the Position
This 6-month assignment will run from April through October. The Temporary Lawn Maintenance Associate will work 40 hours per week and will be paid hourly.

What you will do
You will work closely with the Manager, Maintenance Services in maintaining lawns, property and trails to the highest standard as assigned by the Manager, Maintenance Services.

Responsibilities

Lawn and Property Maintenance
- Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, vehicles, chain saws, electric clippers, and pruning saws
- Mow or edge lawns using power mowers or edgers
- Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes
- Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using shears, pruners, or chainsaws
- Gather and remove litter
- Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools
- Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features

Trail Maintenance
- Perform all aspects of trail maintenance and construction as assigned by supervisor
- Perform rehabilitation and restoration on heavily impacted and temporarily inactive sections of trail
- Clear brush and fallen logs from trail corridor
- Clean and repair both natural and rock drains
- Inspect bridges made from native or other available materials
- Maintain trail features such as causeways, riprap and rock armor structures, and cribbing trail tread

Who we are looking for

Qualifications required for your success
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy workplace environment
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Valid Driver's License
- Fluent in English

Mental, physical, and communication demands
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must frequently bend, grip, and be flexible to do so
- Regularly required to stand and walk
- Strong data entry skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Requires working alone or with minimal supervision - must be self-motivated
- Requires patience and tact when working with people in emotional or tense situations

Benefits Information* (Colorado positions only)

Compensation Range: $20.00/Hour

Temporary associates are ineligible for paid time off and health and retirement benefits but will be covered under worker's compensation insurance during the temporary assignment duration and while performing activities within their assigned duties.
