Our client is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join their team. This role will provide chemical analysis for machine processes. This role will also have client facing duties. Seeking an engineer who can sit down and have technical conversations with customers, engineering, and chemistry departments. This is a direct hire role located in New Prague, MN.
Job Title: Chemical Process Engineer
Location: New Prague, MN
Salary: 100-120k
Key Responsibilities
- Staying up to date with new and emerging manufacturing processes to aid in research and development, in new applications for existing lines of equipment and the design of wholly new forms of technology.
- Provide technical support to the sales, test lab, and engineering/project management staff in an easily comprehensible manner to non-technically trained personnel.
- Designing, planning, and implementing the layout of manufacturing equipment, drying/cooling (thermal) processes, to optimize production and decrease costs for customers. Submits drawings for peer review, and at times customer evaluation. Interface with outside entities in the development and critique of processes designed by others.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Seeking 3-7 years of experience- within a chemical engineering process role
- Demonstrated ability use CAD systems in the design of various equipment (reactor vessels, drying equipment, cooling equipment, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to work with process modeling software (such as CHEMCAD, Aspen) and demonstrated ability to develop working models in house (via Excel, Python, etc.).
- Demonstrated mastery of thermo-dynamic principles as applied to the design of cooling and drying systems.
- Working knowledge of chemical and physical properties of materials such as (but not limited to) heat capacity, thermal conductivity, pH, hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity and thixotropy/dilatancy.
