GCSS-A and Automotive Maintenance Management Instructor/Evaluator:

Job Description:

Performs the duties of Instructor and Evaluator (Automotive, Engineer, and Ancillary Equipment) for the Logistics Readiness Assistance and Training (LRAT) Team. Evaluates automotive equipment systems, Maintenance Management Operations, and Operator Training Programs for all units (Active, National Guard and Reserve) assigned to or supported by 10th Mountain Division and Ft. Drum, NY. Provides instruction for maintenance management, Driver Training Instructors, and Army approved Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) maintenance certification training at the Management and Operator levels. Analyzes the results of unit and equipment evaluations; recommends methods of improvement and solutions and or training for problems related to maintenance and readiness issues. Develops and provides technical briefings, written reports, and related documents to military customers. Researches evaluation results to provide trend data and training recommendations. Develops tailored training materials lesson plans and presents training to Soldiers of all ranks; emphasis on equipment readiness. Research specific customer problems through all available military and civilian channels and provides guidance and reference materials when requested. Cooperates with and provides specific recommendations to other key support organizations with relation to supported field. Reviews and reports technical manual discrepancies with recommended changes. Secret clearance preferred.

Required skills:

Retired military highly preferred, 20+ years military experience as a Warrant Officer, CW2 or above or Senior Non-Commissioned Officer, SFC or above. Must be Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Army Automotive and Engineer (power generation equipment) preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS), electrical, powertrain, hydraulic, fuel, engine control, and miscellaneous systems troubleshooting and repair. Proficient in the Army Operator Training program, standards, and application. Applicant must have the ability to present knowledge and skills to customer in both a classroom environment and hands-on with equipment at customer locations. Certified and proficient in the training, use, and application of GCSS-A (Plant Maintenance Management, Driver Training Instructor, and Equipment Readiness and Parts Clerk) modules and The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS). This includes Shop Supply List (SSL) operations. Proficient in MSOffice applications (primarily MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must have ability to provide professional, clear, and concise written reports and verbal out briefs to customers.

Desired Skills:

ASE certifications; advanced Army ordnance training (i.e. WOAC, ANCOC, TWI, etc.)
