Job Description

Assists the Supervisor by leading an assigned production line in achieving defined goals of safety, efficiency, delivery and associate morale.

Essential Functions

  1. Operates (1) or more special purpose blow molding and or injection molding machines.
  2. Produces plastic blow-molded fuel tanks and or components to specifications on a mass-production basis
  3. Makes routine adjustments to maintain the critical aspects of the specifications.
  4. Ensures daily compliance to meet production goals.
  5. Reviews training matrix, train current and new associates to job processes.
  6. Paperwork administration; includes confirmation of production reports and various documents.
  7. Resolves issues related to production and quality; escalates issues to Coordinator as needed.
  8. Daily communication of section performance to Coordinators and Assistant Managers.
  9. Leads associate behavior in the areas of safety, quality, policy adherence and general associate conduct.
  10. Other tasks as required by Management.
  11. Must be reliable in attendance and work successfully in a team environment.
  12. Lead changeover, robot set up and water cooling changeover.
  13. Conduct Quality Audit of fuel tanks and inspection process.

  1. Must have strong attention to detail
  2. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
  3. Ability to deal with problems involve a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  4. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  5. Ability to to learn and perform technical tasks preferred.
  6. Ability to work closely with the other Team Leaders and be a valued team member preferred.
  7. General troubleshooting skills preferred.
  8. Must have strong communication and training skills.
  9. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers or associates.
  10. Must be able to analyze performance of manufacturing line and make informed decisions.
  11. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  12. Ability to get along with others.
  13. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, and operations manuals.
  14. Must have basic understanding of energy conservation and proper waste disposal and recycling.

Education and/or Experience

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
