Introduction:

Our client immediately needs Java development support utilizing BMC Remedy API services. The Customer’s BMC Remedy ticketing system fulfills service requests and incidents submitted by personnel regarding the Customer’s mission systems and supported facilities. It provides information to allow managers to make decisions regarding resources and risks. The work will be performed within a team environment in an existing codebase and must integrate seamlessly with other Customer applications.

Work Requirements:

1. The Team shall be required to communicate and collaborate across organizational boundaries, including other contractor teams.
2. The Team shall be required to work with Customer staff, contractor personnel, and external stakeholders.
3. The Team shall work with applications in the Customer’s cloud or on-premises environments.
4. The Team shall provide support for implementing, designing, and building enhancements and for long-term maintenance of web capabilities for Remedy Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) services.
5. The Team shall design and develop the application in a web environment.
6. The Team shall analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
7. The Team shall design or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
8. The Team shall perform testing, debugging, and quality assurance of the Customer application.
9. The Team shall play a significant role in maintaining and implementing a modern, highly utilized customer portal as a daily mission-enabling application.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

1. Demonstrated experience developing web application front ends with Java.
2. Demonstrated experience developing software using languages such as JavaScript.
3. Demonstrated experience using JavaScript Object Notion (JSON) for Application Program Interface (API) development.
4. Demonstrated experience developing software using markup languages such as JSON, CSS, and HTML.
5. Demonstrated experience developing software using strongly typed programming language concepts.
6. Demonstrated experience developing Integrated Development Environment (IDE) software like Eclipse.
7. Demonstrated experience developing and utilizing RESTful interfaces.
8. Demonstrated experience using version control systems such as Git or SVN for development.
9. Demonstrated experience interfacing with BMC Remedy API services.
10. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining a web portal against a BMC Remedy instance.
11. Demonstrated experience using Agile development methodologies and JIRA.

Optional Desired Skills & Experience:

1. Demonstrated experience developing web applications using Java Spring.
2. Demonstrated experience with the Customer’s systems, services, and networks.
3. Demonstrated experience with the Customer’s authentication and authorization (A&A) process.
4. Demonstrated experience leveraging Apache Tomcat as a web server.
5. Demonstrated experience upgrading and refining existing production applications (i.e., working with legacy code).
6. Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-level production systems.
