CO-OP Intern

Summary

The Intern role provides a learning experience in a manufacturing setting for students’ related field of undergraduate or graduate study. Internships with an engineering focus would support activities pertaining to Vesuvius Penn’s engineering and maintenance programs.

Education and Experience

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering field of study
• Previous experience as an intern a plus

Skills and Abilities

• MS Office computer skills
• MicroStation and/or AutoCAD proficient
• Verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a safe manner.
• Ability to interpret and understand technical documents.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to travel regionally.
• Valid PA drivers’ license and reliable transportation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide administrative support for the engineering and maintenance departments.
• Organize machine blueprints, scan and save them to online files.
• Assist with developing a searchable spare part database.
• Assist with developing the UpKeep CMMS system.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand, walk, use hands to operate computer equipment, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The work environment has temperature extremes and moderate to high noise level. Regional travel is required occasionally.
