Description:

Connelly School of the Holy Child is seeking a passionate Upper School Science Teacher to join our outstanding faculty for the 2024-2025 School year. We welcome candidates that demonstrate a strong commitment to the uniqueness of each student; where innovation, academic excellence, and a joy of learning are a priority. Responsibilities include:

· Teach Living Earth (life science) and Anatomy & Physiology (flexibility in course assignments and course load based on candidate expertise and interest)

· Serve as an advisor in the Student Advisory Program

  • Committed to professional growth to enhance student learning.
  • Active commitment to enhance a school community through involvement on professional committees and in student life activities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science field required with teaching experience in various levels of secondary education.
  • Teacher preparation program, minor in education, or certification preferred.
  • Commitment to inquiry-based instruction and inclusion of laboratory investigations
  • Strategies and research based best practices to reach students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Proven experience engaging students in class experiences that foster critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
  • Familiarity with implementation of Next Generation Science Standards
  • Ability to inspire students to think beyond the content and form a deeper understanding of how science applies broadly to everyday life.
  • Commitment to embrace the school’s mission and values.
  • Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth and inspire a love of learning.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, department members and parents.
