Shop Generalist

Shop Generalist – Virginia, MN

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is searching for a Shop Generalist to join its team at our Tritec Division in Virginia, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for Shop Generalist/Yard/Warehouse duties including forklift operation and rigging, sandblasting/pressure washing/paint prep, general maintenance, some component assembly/disassembly along with assisting other departments throughout the facility as required.

Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading trucks for incoming and outgoing shipments
• Process all associated paperwork with shipments
• Material handling and experience operating forklift, overhead crane, and rigging loads.
• Palletizing, banding, and packaging orders for both internal and external customers.
• Cleaning, handling, and preparing metal for processing which includes use of hand tools, grinders, pressure washing, and abrasive blast equipment.
• This position also requires you to frequently stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and work in outside weather conditions.
• Must be flexible and able to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift depending on project demands.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Minimum one year of experience
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Excellent communications skills and ability to work with all levels of an organization.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and complete duties under tight deadlines
• Pass respirator fit test.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.
• Have the desire to take action, improve, and be appreciative.
• Possess the capability to engage with customers, co-workers, and vendors in a respectful manner.
