Creative Services Production Artist

PURPOSE: To process jobs in a timely manner while providing the highest quality and manage customer expectations. Provide support and assist others in doing so.

Responsibilities:

• Create production art based on client requirements.
• Create all final files according to the requirements of the press it will run on; including press marks, color correction, etc.
• Follow artist instructions in Meta.
• Produce color separations for printing plates.
• Produce color proofs for internal and external customers.
• Keep digital files organized according to procedure.
• Make independent judgment of working art files; analyzing needs and product requirements to create a final press-ready file.
• Maintain an effective comprehension of profiling and workflow procedures.
• Ability to assist/ lead fingerprint and proof profiling activities.
• Create Color Strategies and new color setups from press fingerprints.
• Basic knowledge of Flexo printing
• Consistently meet acceptable standards of quality and quantity
• Contribute to department and corporate goals.
• Demonstrate a teamwork attitude.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Graphics Arts and/or Printing Technology or equivalent in work experience
• Extensive experience with Mac operating systems and associated software with emphasis on Adobe Creative Suite knowledge (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
• Experience with Flexographic color corrections using Adobe Photoshop/ Esko color tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to pass a Color vision test within normal limits.
• Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision
• Ability to read 10–12-point type at a distance of 12-18 inches.
• Ability to pass an artist’s skills test administered at our facility.
• Preferred knowledge or experience with RIP software or Esko software
• Preferred knowledge with fingerprinting, characterizing, creating proof profiles.
• User operation of the X-rite i1io Spectrophotometer
• Occasional travel may be required.
