Plant Operations Technician

OVERVIEW:

Maintains buildings, grounds, and equipment, as well as utilities and their use; attends maintenance and engineering activities with other departments, attends staff meetings, as well as safety and other meetings, as directed by the Director of Plant Operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues
2. Repair faulty equipment units and damage structures
3. Perform general maintenance task including landscaping, painting, and carpentry
4. Help develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department

RESPONSIBILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

1. Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures
2. Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality
3. Plan and schedule repairs
4. Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standards
5. Maintain the inventory records for equipment and supplies
6. Perform any other duties that may be necessary for the operation of the corporation and/or hospital

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma
2. Certification in HVAC, building maintenance technology and relevant fields is preferred
3. Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
4. In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
5. Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time
2. Manual dexterity and use of a calculator or computer keyboard.
3. Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting
4. Occasionally lifts to 100 pounds
5. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges
6. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
7. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionization radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a hospital and/or clinic environment
