Job Title: Outdoor Pool Attendant

Department: Parks and Recreation

Reports To: Parks & Recreation, Director

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

SUMMARY: Attends pool check-in’s, assists in promotion and administration of programs, takes payments for pool admittance, concessions and events and keeps shop and immediate grounds in an orderly fashion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Inspect pool, pool deck, immediate building area, and equipment daily for upkeep and safety issues taking action to correct any substandard condition.

2. Conduct check-in procedures and collect all the proper fees.

3. Help to maintain and police court reservation schedule.

4. Stay current on POA rules and regulations relative to facility operations and play.

5. Assist in the sale of merchandise and other equipment.

6. Use tact and diplomacy in dealing with persons, verbally, electronically, or by telephone.

7. Monitor and check pool for potential problems and communicate with maintenance employees or other leadership.

8. Assist in promoting and arranging pool rentals for property owners, visitors and guests.

9. Assist in keeping the building, bathrooms and surrounding outside area clean as necessary.

10. Aids and assists in the development, promotion, and sustainability of the facility.

11. May be required to drive POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.

12. Regular attendance is required.

13. Any other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

14. Deliver outstanding customer service, making every effort to accommodate customer needs.

15. Ensure the safety of patrons and staff through accident prevention and safety policy, enforcing all facility and recreation location rules and regulations.

16. Have a thorough knowledge of rules, regulations and operational use with regard to POA amenity use.

17. Maintain a safe, clean amenity/facility at all times.

18. Report to supervisor any safety materials needed or maintenance concerns.

19. CPR/AED/First Aid training is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School degree; three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend, in English, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
