OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:

Digney York Associates, LLC is looking for an experienced accounting professional to join its team. The Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller and will perform a wide variety of functions within the team. The Accountant will serve a vital role in the department and will work directly with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to help ensure the success of our projects.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Perform various project accounting functions including invoicing, cash disbursements, and the tracking of subcontractor compliance requirements.
  • Review and record subcontractor commitments and change orders.
  • Review and enter vendor invoices into accounting system.
  • Maintain internal vendor filing system for invoices processed and paid.
  • Prepare and record month end journal entries.
  • Complete month end account reconciliations.
  • Assist with external year-end audits and state tax audits.
  • Maintain vendor W-9 file and assist with annual 1099 filing.
  • Prepare additional ad hoc reports as requested.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role necessary to perform role.
  • Proficiency in Sage 300 a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with internal departments and external customers.
  • Ability to be onsite 5 days per week in Vienna, VA office.
