Job Summary:

Reporting to the President of Cimarron Trailers, the Director of Human Resources & Safety will lead the human resources and safety function at Cimarron Trailers. The Director of Human Resources implements and manages policies and programs that reflect Cimarron Trailers’ values, support company goals, and positively engage the workforce for a culture of engagement, safety, and productivity. This position will manage the Cimarron Trailers human resources & safety team, and will partner with the Folience Shared Services human resources team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and mentoring the Human Resources & Safety team at Cimarron Trailers, Inc. with current facilities located in Chickasha, Oklahoma and Manhattan, Kansas
  • Designs, plans, and implements human resources programs including employee training, retention, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and leave administration
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring process
  • Collaborates with teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs for employees. Suggests enhancements to existing training programs. Ensures all training is kept up to date and programs are effective
  • Engages with outside vendors and Shared Services learning & development to provide training programs or training content as needed
  • Responsible for policy development and implementation across Cimarron, including the employee handbook and other employment policies
  • Identifies and analyzes complex employee relations issues and provides recommendations for resolutions
  • Works closely with Folience Shared Services human resources on legal and compliance, and any employee escalations
  • Set goals for Human Resources & Safety team and develop tracking metrics
  • Process all unemployment claims, documentation and phone hearings
  • Help manage, update and oversee shop bulletin boards for appropriate employee communications
  • Communicates with Cimarron leadership team and plant management on concerns, policies, and needs related to human resources
  • Oversee safety functions including: Tracking and analyzing accident data to improve safety, maintain OSHA recordable injury log, develop and schedule training, and conduct safety audits
  • Maintains sensitive, confidential information
  • Other duties as assigned, per the needs of the business

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Professional certification – SPHR or PHR and/or SHRM-CP
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources leading a team in a manufacturing environment

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Employment labor laws
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of Worker’s Compensation system in the State of Oklahoma and Kansas
  • Must be knowledgeable of various Human Resource Information Systems and proficient with computers
  • Proficiency with various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively with management, subordinates, vendors, customers, and employees.
  • Must excel at working in a team environment.
  • This position requires that the person be a highly organized individual, who is self-motivated, possesses excellent attention to detail and can work independently.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making
  • Must have very strong leadership skills with team, supervisors and employees
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including group presentations.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to sit or stand and move about the facility.
  • Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 25 lbs. individually.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety Glasses while in shop.
  • Ear protection while in shop
  • Safety Shoes at all times

Work Environment:

  • Majority of time is spent onsite in an office setting. Regular attendance is a critical function of the job.
  • Travel to Kansas facility required occasionally
  • Periodically exposed to any number of elements, extreme heat & cold, working in and out of doors between buildings
