Our client, a boutique Accounting, Management Consulting, and Enterprise Solutions Firm specializing in large-firm and federal compliance, accountability, reporting, technology, and infrastructure has partnered with us again to add a Sr. Financial Project Manager with a CPA to their team.

This is a full-time, remote role; candidates must be willing to relocate to the Northern Virginia / Washington, DC area if the client would request a hybrid or on-site scenario. Candidates must live in the US, be able to obtain a Secret Clearance, and have an active CPA license.

This position serves as a Sr. Project Manager - Finance who will manage a Federal Cabinet-level Agency Project. The candidate will oversee a financial reporting team of managers and analysts to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications. The Project Manager will develop, coordinate, manage, and plan project activities, resources, and the delivery of tasks in accordance with the client’s statement of work. The Project Manager delegates work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints. The desired candidate will coordinate with contracting officers and contracting officers representatives to direct and monitor contractors efforts to ensure compliance with relevant government regulations and completion of project tasks.

The desired candidate would also be a self-starter, with strong research and analytical skills. Ensures that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner, that all administrative matters are handled appropriately; manages significant program/technical support operations and ensures adherence to accounting standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, execute, monitor, and maintain monthly, quarterly, annual project plan(s)to ensure deliverables are completed timely and clearing roadblocks that may arise.
  • Review monthly/quarterly and annual Financial Statements and deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and timely submission, in adherence to federal accounting standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact to the client for all administrative and technical issues.
  • Attend weekly, quarterly, annual client meetings, committee meetings, staff meetings, audit meeting as well as other meetings that arise to support the Government Agency.
  • Organize, manage, and direct contract employees in performance of work to deliver on contract. Direct both functional and technical teams.
  • Coordinate project activities with Project Team Members, and other senior management and Project Teams as appropriate
  • Coordinate and facilitate responses to performance or deliverable issue, changes in project scope, or onsite program manager issues and immediately address client concerns and emerging problems; in additional to working with the COR to resolve contracting, budgeting, and reporting issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for all quality assurance reviews and contract deliveries.
  • Prepare weekly status updates and facilitate communication of project scope, priorities and issue resolutions to senior staff and management.
  • Responsible for preparation and submission of overall weekly and monthly progress status report. Ensure all project requirements and objectives are properly documented; interfacing with client stakeholders at all levels on a daily basis in response and respond to questions both orally and in writing.
  • Ensures that services and administrative matters are provided in an efficient and timely manner and handled appropriately.
  • Monitor Project Team progress and identify and implement changes to assure the Team meets project deliverables and timelines.
  • Present briefings to senior management and others during, and at the conclusion of the project.
  • Create and maintain an environment, which highly motivates the team to work together. Provide management, mentoring, leadership, and ongoing motivation to the team.
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire employees to efficiently drive short- and long-term deliverables as well as apply appropriate judgment of when to delegate and when to deep dive as needed.
  • Work with Internal Human Resources Department to obtain resources necessary to perform the work.


Requirements
Financial Project Managers with the following experience will be considered:
  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in accounting business, operations research, management, computer science, engineering, or related discipline
  • CPA Certification - candidates without this will not be considered
  • Ten (10) years general experience with six (6) years specialized in Federal Government Financial Management and Reporting with extensive knowledge of Federal Accounting Standards; demonstrated experience in Federal Statement Preparation Experience
  • Experience with the OMB Circular A-136 - candidates without this will not be considered
  • CGFM Certification - nice to have
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS accounting
  • Experience with the OMB Circular A-136 - REQUIRED
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
  • Strong analysis and research skills
