At Pershing General Hospital & Nursing Home, our mission is to be the first-choice provider for our community's health needs. We work tirelessly to provide excellent healthcare in our 13-bed critical access hospital, 25-bed long-term care facility, and rural health clinic.

Pershing General Hospital is looking to hire Registered Nurses for our Long-Term Care unit. LTC nurses will need BLS certification prior to hire.

Essential Functions

  1. Exhibits behaviors that are consistent with the Mission, Philosophy, and Values of Pershing General Hospital and Nursing Home as well as the culture and objectives of Pershing General Hospital and Nursing Home. All employees are expected to work as needed in providing health and wellness services in the communities within Pershing General Hospital and Nursing Home.
  2. Demonstrates effective leadership skills with the communication, organization and management of assigned work.
  3. (Member of the Profession): Accountable for the ethical, legal and professional responsibilities related to nursing practice across the roles of member of the profession, provider, advocate, manager and educator.
  4. (Provider): Helps the patient/family group to identify and meet basic health needs using identified standards of practice based on the nursing process. The Registered Nurse coordinates care using an interdisciplinary holistic approach.
  5. (Advocate): Promotes a climate in which residents/patients and their families may act in their own interest, and intervenes when residents/patients and/or families are unable to act in their own best interest.
  6. (Educator): Identifies and takes the initiative in expanding own knowledge base and the knowledge base of cohorts.
  7. (Charge Nurse): If RN is designated as Charge Nurse during their shift, in accordance with Pershing General Hospital House Supervisor Policy and Procedure; ED RN shall assume responsibility of the hospital in totality as the House Supervisor, which includes decision making with other departments in absence of their immediate supervisors and personnel assignments. The ED Charge Nurse will assign all personnel in the Acute Care and Emergency Room and will direct and/or assist the Nursing Home Charge Nurse as required, as a team effort. The Nursing Home Charge Nurse will be responsible for the residents and their care along with making personnel assignments to ensure appropriate care in absence of the administrative nursing personnel (LTC Director and/or Chief Nursing Officer).
  8. (Preceptor): Serves as a preceptor and role model for new staff members.
  9. (Quality): Participates in and demonstrates understanding of Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance in the organization.
