Human Resources Manager

Centre Law & Consulting (www.centrelawgroup.com) is a boutique law firm specializing in representing federal government contractors. As a Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB), Centre also provides a range of professional services and training to federal customers.

We are looking for a Human Resources Manager who can manage the full employee life-cycle including recruiting, on boarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, termination, and acting as a trusted advisor to leadership.

The Human Resources Manager will lead corporate efforts associated with the planning and management of the company’s Human Resources (HR) functions. This will include recruiting and hiring staff, conducting full benefits lifecycle management, oversight of performance management and employee engagement, and ensuring adherence to employment laws and organizational policy. This is a key management position and reports to the COO.

Responsibilities Include:

• Partner with other leadership team members to understand and execute the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

• Advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity, and recommend needed changes.

• Oversees the company’s benefit offerings and ensures timely renewals with competitive costs to Centre. Coordinates all renewal activities with Centre leadership and employees.

• Serve as a link between leadership and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policy and helping resolve work-related problems.

• Act as main HR point of contact for all client-site employees, including benefit management, employee relations and engagement, performance management, and all other relevant functions needed as determined by the contract.

• Plan, organize, direct, control, or coordinate the performance management, training, or engagement activities of an organization.

• Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.

• Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

• Perform staffing and employee relations duties, including refereeing disputes, leading investigations, assist in terminating employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Remain knowledgeable on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:

• Minimum of 4 years of HR experience in progressively more senior roles.

• Experience in government contracts industry highly preferred.

• SHRM-CP or PHR desired.

• Bachelors degree required, in related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and performance management and employee engagement.

• Active listening, critical thinking skills; oral and written comprehension and clarity.

• Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.

• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS, talent management, and learning management systems.

• Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
