Job Summary

A Service Advisor initiates automotive services and repairs by communicating with customers to ascertain performance problems and services requested. They verify warranty and service contract coverage; develop estimates; write repair orders and maintain customer rapport and records.

Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting suggested service in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
  • Utilize walk around process to increase customer awareness of vehicle condition and build rapport
  • Generate service order estimates/quotes for customers
  • Schedule appointments and maintain an organized schedule
  • Conduct post-repair follow up
  • Resolve customer complaints
  • Maintain value, quality, and integrity

General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.
  • Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Service Advisor experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision
  • Strong Computer & Phone Skills (Internet, MS Outlook)
  • Experience with automotive software preferred
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
