Assistant Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for the management, direction, and coordination of plant operations.

Principal Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment
• Responsible for ensuring production processes can produce a consistent, quality part that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations
• Ensures related quality policies and procedures are accurate and followed
• Responsible for leading operations to ensure effective management and growth on a profitable basis consistent with established objectives and goals
• Ensures team members have the training, tools, resources, and processes to be successful
• Responsible for day-to-day activities of production, including capacity planning, manpower planning, throughput, scheduling, quality, and on-time delivery
• Responsible for managing and coordinating problem identification and corrective action teams as it relates to safety, quality, scrap, and productivity improvements
• Maintains and updates equipment capacity based on planned volume provided by planning
• Review the performance of the leaders in the Manufacturing Organization
• Assist Plant Manager in developing short- and long-term strategic goals to meet objectives as set forth by RWC
• Communicate the status of all business conditions affecting the Manufacturing Organization
• Leads continuous improvement events and initiatives focused on waste elimination
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Experience: 5 - 8 years of management experience in the manufacturing industry

Competencies: Need to possess strong interpersonal, the ability to communicate effectively, maintain confidential information, exercise sound judgment, make accurate and timely decisions, the ability to multi-task and work with teams in a fast-paced environment, and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

• This position will be in a manufacturing environment.
• Based: Cullman, AL
