MBC Tysons - Access Internship

WHO SHOULD APPLY FOR AN MBC INTERNSHIP?

The internship program is designed for high school graduates and college students who are walking closely with Jesus and would like to spend the summer working in special needs ministry and discipling the next generation.

WHAT WILL THE INTERNSHIP INVOLVE?

Ministry involves many types of work, from administrative tasks to volunteer recruiting to teaching Bible lessons. As an Access Intern, you’ll play an active role in planning and executing weekend programming, Access VBS Camps and special events. Additionally, you will receive intentional training and discipleship from the NextGen team to develop you as a faithful servant of Jesus.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS OF AN MBC INTERN?

Internship dates are June 9 – August 14, 2024. Access Interns can expect to work 30-35 hours a week with set office hours across Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Some evening and weekend availability will be required for special events. During the busy month of July, Interns can expect to work more hours to support the camps happening during this month.

A mandatory orientation for all MBC Interns will take place on Sunday, June 9 from 1-3pm.

MBC Interns will be permitted up to 5 vacation days throughout the summer with written approval. Vacation day requests must be submitted by May 22, and approval/denial will be given by the internship start date. Vacation days cannot be used during mandatory summer camp dates.

For NextGen ministries, summer camps are a critical part of our mission to make disciples of the next generation. Access VBS Camps July 8th – 12th and July 22nd – 26th will be MANDATORY for all Access Interns. All NextGen Interns will serve at one additional camp over the summer:

• High School Summer Camp – July 13th – 17th

• Middle School Summer Camp – August 1st – 4th

• Kid’s Quest Summer Camp from August 5th – 9th
