Position Overview

Consumer Brands is looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual who loves brands and gets excited about initiatives that make a difference in the home of every American consumer to join us as a marketing intern this summer. As the association that champions growth and innovation for food, beverage, household and personal-care product companies, Consumer Brands represents over 70 CPG companies that own almost 2,000 brands. This position will work hand-in-hand with members of our public affairs team to contribute to marketing and positioning of upcoming organization programs and events.

Key Areas of Responsibility

The Marketing intern will support our association initiatives by helping us position and promote revenue-driving initiatives, including two flagship events: the CPG Summit and CPG Legal Forum. This internship also provides opportunities to become familiar with end-to-end project management and gain professional experience. Examples of some of the tasks you’ll be doing include:
  • Create and publish emails, web copy and social media posts and toolkits to drive our campaigns and interest in organization programs and events.
  • Manage brand assets and event collateral for Consumer Brands’ annual CPG Summit to drive attendance and on-site engagement of CPG company CEOs and senior executives.
  • Work collaboratively throughout the organization to create messaging for internal stakeholders to drive awareness on Consumer Brands’ impact to our membership and prospective members.
  • Assist with marketing and communications projects for upcoming Consumer Brands events and programs.
  • Contribute to additional team initiatives and priorities, as needed.
Requirements
  • Intern candidates are current students (sophomores and above) pursuing their undergraduate degree, ideally in marketing, communications, business or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
