Job Summary


Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET) - a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC Company, is seeking an Electrical and Control Systems Designer who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service to our company, clients, and employees.

 

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of four divisions include Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC has offices in multiple states.

The Electrical and Control Systems Designer is responsible for understanding project requirements and translating them onto a CAD platform into a complete design package for manufacture and installation, using industry, departmental and discipline standards.

 

 

Education and Experience Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License Preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant design experience.
  • Comfortable in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • ePlan experience preferred.
  • Process/industry specific knowledge strongly preferred.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Electrical and Control Systems Designer possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:

 

  • Reading, interpreting, and understanding specification documents, control narratives, P&I diagrams, and plan layout diagrams.
  • Understanding project requirements and translating them onto a CAD platform into a complete design package for manufacture and installation, using industry, departmental and discipline standards.
  • Create and maintain an electronic parts database and design records.
  • Collaborate and coordinate activities with all project stakeholders.
  • Work with project teams to ensure every project has a smooth transition through development, production, acceptance, and release; assisting team when needed.
  • Meets regularly with project managers and stakeholders to exchange critical project information.
  • Designs or redesigns complex layouts and drawings from general written or verbal specifications from Group Leader.
  • Works with other teams to obtain reference information for drawings.
  • Works with project team to execute projects on time and on budget.
  • Reviews design layouts to find and resolve problems involving compatibility with basic design concepts.
  • Works with engineering and manufacturing team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs.
  • Participates in engineering and manufacturing design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations; providing alternative design concepts when needed.
  • Reads and understands 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Makes corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

 

  • Move about jobsites as needed.
  • Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
  • Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
