Job Title: Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist

Location: Wailuku, Hawaii with flexible work environment

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt

Compensation: $5,463.88 / per month with competitive benefits package

Summary of Program and Position:

Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a family-focused evidence-based program that emphasizes family strengths to support the development of positive and productive family interactions. Therapists focus on family engagement and motivation, communication and interaction skills, problem solving strategies, conflict management and the use of community resources.

The FFT Therapist provides evidenced-based clinical services for prevention and treatment to families and their children with serious behavioral, social, and emotional challenges who are enrolled in the program. Services are planned and delivered in partnership with key family members and assigned system personnel. This position is under the direct supervision of the FFT Supervisor.

Essential Duties

  • Provides therapeutic support to children/adolescents and their families in the family home or other most natural and least restrictive settings. Services are provided on Oahu, Maui County, and Kauai based on case assignments.
  • Communicates and works effectively with individuals and all clients of diverse, racial, social, and economic backgrounds including disability and learning capabilities, gender or gender identity, and sexual orientation.
  • Ensures delivery of service in a manner consistent with standards and guidelines established by funders and state law.
  • Ensures that service delivery efforts are rooted in current best practice principles as outlined by the family centered principles of the Hawaii Child and Adolescent Service System Program(CASSP).
  • Documents all contacts thoroughly and in clear, concise, and timely manner using nonjudgmental language.
  • Notifies supervisor when there are any significant and critical issues occurring in the caseloads.
  • Maintains strict adherence to the FFT model of therapy and is competent with the FFT Clinical Services System (CSS).
  • Participates in all required and assigned FFT and other training, supervision and consultation activities and attends in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/ Experience and Training:
  1. Masters in social work or related field required, plus one (1) year experience working in care or treatment of youth in a mental health or educational setting.
  2. At least one (1) year full-time paid or private practice work with families.

Other:

  1. Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and daily access to an automobile.
  2. Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
  3. Can obtain an acceptable criminal background check upon hire, one year later, and annually thereafter.
  4. Can obtain an acceptable CWS background check. upon hire, one year later, and annually thereafter.
  5. Can obtain an acceptable National Sex Offender Registry Check upon hire, one year later, and annually thereafter.
  6. Can obtain an acceptable APS adult protective services registry check upon hire, one year later, and annually thereafter.
