Job Description

We are hiring for a maintenance area manager for a client in Hartsville SC

Promote safety as a fundamental value within the Maintenance Department, prioritizing injury prevention alongside achieving business objectives.  Foster a culture that instills the belief that all equipment failures can be avoided through proactive measures. Enhance equipment and machinery reliability by measuring machine uptime as a critical metric.  Develop organizational proficiency in the application of lean tools, including 6S, Process Management, TPMs, standardized work, and rapid cycle improvements.  Optimize plant uptime and equipment process capability through a robust predictive and preventative maintenance program.  Cultivate effective communication channels with site management, peers, and external stakeholders.  Efficiently oversee multiple projects, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and appropriate resource allocation. Take charge of spare parts management, encompassing the identification of necessary spare parts, procurement, and inventory oversight. Supervise vendors and contractors to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Collaborate with site EHS personnel to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements for equipment and machinery. Nurture the development of direct reports, fostering technical skills relevant to their functional responsibilities. Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Area Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
  • \n
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2+ years in a maintenance engineering, maintenance support specialist, or maintenance craftsperson role within a heavy equipment manufacturing facility.
  • \n
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with SAP.
  • \n
  • Six Sigma and lean training is advantageous.
  • \n
  • Preferred experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and supervision.
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept problem-solving abilities, and project management proficiency with a focus on identifying customer solutions.
  • \n
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, make informed decisions, evaluate and recommend new equipment and maintenance technologies.
  • \n
  • Willingness to thrive in a production-oriented environment with dynamic priorities and deadlines.
  • \n
  • Leadership skills to direct and supervise others, objectively evaluate employee performance, and contribute to training and development initiatives.
