Tool and Die Maker

Summary: Seeking a Tool and Die Maker with specialized training and extensive experience for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting dies, molds, and assembly machines.

Requirements:

• Specialized training equivalent to two years of college

• Minimum of five years of tool and die experience

• Proficiency in operating Bridgeport milling machines, lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, optidress, and J&S wheel dressers

• Skilled in using measuring tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, gauges

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to plan and construct various types of dies and molds including progressive and compound dies

• Capability to perform machining operations with complex setups to maintain close tolerances

• Experience in bench work involving fitting, scraping, grinding, lapping

• Competence in making tool tryouts and diagnosing issues for correction

Responsibilities:

• Build, repair, maintain dies/molds/fixtures/assembly machines; assist Engineering with prototypes

• Perform quality inspection on new parts before releasing to production

• Work from verbal instructions or prints to fabricate items as needed

• Keep accurate records of maintenance on equipment

• Collaborate with suppliers on tool repairs/new designs

• Maintain good quality standards and a clean/safe work environment

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a 4-panel drug test (excluding THC)

• Successful completion of a 7-year county background check

• Able to lift objects weighing over 60 lbs

 

 

 

 

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
