Metal fabrication company seeking experienced production lead.

Position Overview: As a Production Team Leader at our custom lean manufacturing facility in Fontana, CA, you will play a pivotal role in leading and mentoring a team of manufacturing professionals to ensure safe operations and foster a culture of continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of 6-15 manufacturing professionals, including training, mentoring, and coaching as needed. Conduct interviews, hire, develop, and possibly terminate employees to build a high-performing team. Plan and schedule workdays, hours, and departments to optimize production flow and enhance customer satisfaction. Lead team meetings focusing on planning, safety, quality, and continuous education and enrichment. Ensure production quality through adherence to processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Utilize root cause problem-solving techniques for defect analysis and resolution. Oversee operator preventive maintenance on equipment to meet production requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, schedule, and process through kaizen activities. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment through 5S practices. Qualifications: Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, build-to-order environment; relevant education preferred. Strong customer service orientation. Proficiency with production planning and metrics. Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) preferred. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Effective communication, presentation, and training skills. Desire to continue learning and developing as a leader. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to apply visual management methods on the shop floor. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Ability to use both hands for gripping, holding, and typing.
