Job Description

Our reputable client is seeking an interim Assistant Controller to join the company. The Assistant Controller will participate in the strategic planning process and will maintain and report on key financial metrics. This contract opportunity will also be providing financial leadership in managing budgets, overseeing all accounting functions, and conducting forecast analysis.


- Create reports on the company's key financial metrics for internal and board stakeholders


- Work with the executive team to develop operational and long-term budgets and forecasts for all aspects of the organization and then monitor and report on performance against those budgets


- Assist with grant budgeting and application processes


- Run the annual/quarterly/monthly budgeting and forecasting processes


- Generate and maintain effective professional relationships with the company's bankers, auditors, government agencies, and other professional organizations


- Develop operating and financial metrics, analyze results and trends to create impactful insights, report results to executive leadership and key stakeholders, and improve forecasting and modeling accuracy


- Manage adherence to the company's accounting policies and procedures

- Must be skilled in analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution


- Experience with grants and/or in a non-profit organization is preferred


- Must be able to interact clearly and effectively in a fast-changing environment with excellent written and verbal skills


- CPA designation or MBA highly preferred


- Must have strong integrity, confidentially, and accountability


- Minimum of 8 years' experience in an accounting role


- Bachelor or Business Administration degree with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
