Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit

-Utilizing the Nursing Process (Assessment, Planning, Nursing Diagnosis, Implementation and Evaluation) provides and documents professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, established SRH and Nursing Policies/Procedures/Protocols and Standards of Care.

-Coordinates and delegates the care with/to other professionals and ancillary personnel. Communicates findings as indicated to appropriate person(s). Serves as a resource person for other SRH/nursing personnel to resolve work-related issues. Performs any other job-related duties as requested by Supervisor or Department Director.

• License: SC state RN license.
• Certification: BLS-upon hire. ACLS, Arrhythmia, NIHSS Certificate within 1 year of hire.
• Experience: New Grads welcome.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - Associates Degree.
• Beds:32
• Patient Population: Adults
• Average # of Admits per day/week:8-10 average admissions per day
• Common Diagnoses:Stroke Patients, Critical Care Stepdown Patients, Cardiac Patients, Acute NSTEMI Arrhythmias requiring continuous IV management with titration, NIV management, PE, Head Trauma, Complicated Diabetes management, stable post interventional cardiac catheterization, permanent pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator placementNurse to Patient Ratio:1:4-5

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Required)
• PCCN (Preferred)
• ACLS Certification (Preferred)
