Producer Job Summary:

We are seeking a Producer to work onsite in Chantilly, VA on a contract basis to support a client that provides premier entertaining and education video subscription services. As a Producer, you will be responsible for managing one of several production teams in all aspects of pre and postproduction of highly produced, long-format multimedia video courses, with overall responsibility for the audio/visual representation of the content, delivered on-time, and within budget.

Producer Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for production team’s execution and delivery of all aspects of pre and postproduction on-time and on-budget.
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with professor/talent from pre to postproduction, in partnership with the Content Developer and Image Rights Analyst.
  • Create a preproduction plan by interpreting professor outlines and scripts, with an emphasis on research, design, and selection of visual production elements for the course.
  • Communicate with scheduling team about key milestones and deliverables and collaborate to adjust resources as needed.
  • Prepare for studio taping, including selection of props, set design, studio material selection and advising/coaching talent on performance.
  • Work with Studio Operations Manager to oversee the control room and studio process during taping sessions, including studio personnel (director, teleprompter op., camera ops.) to ensure presentation of content is stylistically appropriate, on brand and maximizes engagement.
  • Make editorial decisions in post-production that enhance engagement and the viewer comprehension of the course material, which can often be intellectually complex and challenging.
  • Assist in design and proof graphic materials and on-screen text with graphic artists and editors.
  • Ensure delivery of all elements to the Quality Control team on or before the due date (completed lectures, final titles, style guide and any bonus materials).

Producer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with applicable equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ producing for television or video outlet.
  • Adobe Premier Pro editing experience.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work within a set schedule and time constraints without sacrificing creativity and quality of final product.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to see a project through each phase to completion.
  • Must be creative and able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to production staff.
  • Experienced in delivering projects within budgetary restrictions.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
