Responsibilities:Summary: The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for operating a lift truck to move finished
product, material and supplies. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation
of the vehicle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Must be able to safely and efficiently operate the lift truck / clamp truck
Observes necessary safety precautions
Identify and report the following to warehouse management: Equipment problems;
quality problems; unsafe practices and conditions.
Operates a gas, electric lift truck and clamp lift in and between departments, building and
grounds.
Moves product through the facility
Fill out necessary paperwork for reporting safety, quality, production, damages and
loading/unloading verification.
Collects and delivers a variety of materials, adhering to good safety practices in carrying
out duties
Delivers materials to work areas as directed, stacks materials in storage areas and loads
shipments in trailers.
Prepares and checks necessary receipts, records and reports
Housekeeping on a daily basis: ensuring that all areas in which he/she works are clean
and that all items are stored in their proper places
Inspect, repack and rework of materials
Support Lean initiatives assigned.
Qualifications:
- Six months manufacturing or shipping experience preferred
- Ability to accurately count, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions & decimals
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to read & interpret documents, i.e safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, & procedure manual
- Possess a positive professional attitude
