Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives, maintaining integrity and confidentiality of all employee data. Oversee day-to-day HR activities and act as primary point of contact for HR issues and concerns. Respond to routine inquiries from employees and managers to include, but not limited to: benefits and questions regarding human resources policies and procedures. Work with VP of HR to continually improve an overall talent management strategy including workforce planning; recruiting; hiring; training and development; performance review and improvement; and succession planning. Establish and track key performance indicators to ensure the HR programs are contributing to staff engagement and company performance. Initiate employee engagement surveys. Analyze the results and recommend programs to address the needs of the workforce. Employee Development: Upgrade and implement talent management processes, including employee development, career planning, performance evaluations, and succession planning. Partner with management to provide guidance on sensitive employee matters, manage performance improvement plans, and coaching and disciplinary processes. Ensure compliance with all HR policies. Review and recommend changes to company policies, procedures, and practices to implement industry best practices. Oversee legal compliance with both federal and state employment laws and regulations, as well as employee safety, welfare, wellness and health. Ensure the company’s recordkeeping and information systems meet the Department of Labor, IRS, and other audit requirements. Assist with managing key benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k), and support VP of HR with annual renewals with brokers. Support team with Communicating and educating employees on benefit enrollment, changes, renewals, and terminations. Manage staff in conducting day-to-day administration, processes applications, and ensure completion of requirements. Coordinate recruitment efforts for all positions, working with hiring managers to create job descriptions, write and place ads, screen, interview, checks references and recommend qualified candidates. Provide guidance on executive compensation and benefits. Facilitate and track completion of on-boarding paperwork, benefit elections and necessary forms/documentation required for payroll. Conduct HR/Benefits orientations with all new employees. Coordinate with Accounting/Payroll staff the processing of payroll. Lead implementation of projects and process improvement initiatives. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in HR. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field. Required 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with minimum 10 years in a senior leadership role. Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive organizational success. Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future trends and challenges and develop proactive solutions Excellent problem solving, judgment and decision-making, coaching and counseling skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment Highest degree of discretion and confidentiality Sound knowledge of relevant employment legislation Self-motivated, driven, and with a willingness to go above and beyond Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Accredited HR certification a plus Experience in the Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry preferred.
