Location Description

Michael foods, Inc. located in Britt, Iowa where more eggs are produced within a 100 mile radius than anywhere in the world. Small town living and friendly faces make Britt, Iowa a place to call home. Our location is an egg processing flacility that varies from breaking, pasteurization, and dried egg. Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Promote a safe and productive work environment, create teamwork amongst your shift and across shift lines, lead by example, and manage the logistics workflow of the Britt facility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Conduct pre-shift meetings. Ensure everyone stretches as a group, communicate changes and daily workload. Analyze head count for workload and make schedule changes as necessary.
  2. Monitor doors: prep and close doors by following the inbound and outbound procedures.
  3. Work closely with the office staff and Inventory Analyst to ensure the workflow to the floor is consistent.
  4. Monitor pallet truck deliveries ensuring the trailers are unloaded and reloaded with product or supplies in a timely fashion.
  5. Assist in inventory management of finished product, supplies, and packaging materials.
  6. Monitor the floor for safety concerns or infractions and act appropriately.
  7. Operate a forklift in a safe and productive manner. Assist the operators and perform daily tasks when not performing lead duties.
  8. Ensure warehouse is organized and clean, damages are taken care of, packaging materials are sealed, and supplies and materials are dated when they are received. Ensures FIFO rotation.
  9. Lead training and re-training of forklift operators.
  10. Provides cross training with the egg receiving warehouse.
  11. Promote teamwork within your team and between teams by communicating in a positive and pleasant manner.
  12. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety
  13. Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
  14. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or G.E.D or an equivalent combination of education and experience

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of six months experience in a palletized warehouse environment is preferred. Strong Leadership and inter-personal skills are required. The successful completion of a Powered Industrial Truck training program is required. Ability to use standard office technology such as a computer, copier/fax machine, and phone system is strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Effectively read, write and speak English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Strong math and configuration is necessary

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to analyze situations and make the best decision which will benefit the company without jeopardizing the health and well being of the employee.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Forklift certification required
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to successfully complete MFI Powered Industrial Trucks certification.
