Position Title: Accountant of Internal Financial Reporting
Salary: $50,000+ commensurate with experience and qualifications plus superb benefits package provided to all employees including up to 9% 401k contributions and profit sharing program


Position Summary:
Colonial Farm Credit () is an agricultural credit cooperation and provides loans for:
- Farms and country homes
- Land purchase, home construction, or improvements
- Buildings, machinery, livestock or equipment
- Production capital for both full-time and part-time farmers
- Ag-related businesses


We have an excellent employment opportunity for an Accountant of Internal Financial Reporting in our Finance Department/Administrative office. Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, this position performs general accounting activities of the Association, including numerous reconciliations, routine provisions or assessments, and verifying the validity and accuracy of loan and General Ledger entries; is responsible for developing and executing monthly reports designed to satisfy the information needs of management and the Board of Directors (Excel and SQL based); monitors various exception reports and conducts reviews to support the internal controls of the Association; provides assistance with the annual budget; and, implements internal controls in areas of responsibility so as to protect Association's assets and insure accurate internal and external reporting.


Education, Experience, and Requirements (things you need to be successful):
1. Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree, with a concentration in accounting or a related field
2. Minimum of five years related work experience (accounting experience)
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel); Report writing skills
4. Ability to effectively manage multiple time sensitive assignments and manage frequent change, delays, and/or unexpected events; and work independently (general supervision)
5. Ability to work effectively with Association employees at all levels, auditors, and other third parties
6. Superior attention to detail and strong organizational skills
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to employ diplomacy and tact with customers and employees
8. Problem solving skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere
9. Acceptab le background reports (credit, criminal, driving, and drug)
