Job Description

Responsible for providing maintenance, repair and upkeep of all buildings, tools and plant equipment. Technician is responsible for providing preventative maintenance, including a safe and sanitary environment, to the plant and surrounding grounds.

This postion Is located in Mandan, ND. Relocation assistance may be provided*

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties include but not limited to:

    • Safety must be priority. Remedy any unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
    • Learn set-up, operation, adjustments and operating parameters of production equipment.
    • Be a role model in projecting and applying company policies and department SOPs and promote teamwork at all times.
    • Be on call, as needed.
    • Assess maintenance and repair problems with follow-up.
    • Perform plumbing and electrical work and repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production.
    • Develop open communication with machine operators, department supervisors and managers.
    • Facilitate implementing a preventative maintenance schedule for production equipment.
    • Build spare parts stock for normal wear items.
    • Paint any necessary areas and repair aesthetic defects i.e. seals, hinges, hangers, etc. when production schedule allows.
    • Develop a daily walk-through routine to spot and document possible problems.
    • Reconfigure electrical and water drops to improve esthetics, efficiency and safety.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
    The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to successfully perform the job.

    1. Education and Experience
      • Required:
      • High school diploma or GED.
      • Minimum three years related experience in electrical, single phase, 3 phase & programming, refrigeration, welding, fabrication, forklift or building maintenance.
      • Preferred:
      • Experience in Best Practices in Process Improvement.
      • Industrial Refrigeration Certified.
      • Experience working in a food processing environment.
    2. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
      • Able to obtain Commercial Driver’s License
      • Fork-lift Certification
    3. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
      • Strong Computer skills in MS Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel
      • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
