Job Description

· Manage a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) with the day-to-day operations in the fields of logistics, maintenance management, Total Package Fielding (TPF), records keeping and Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) operations.

· Participates in or chairs meetings to discuss and resolve logistics problems for assigned program area.

· Assures that critical actions are integrated and properly executed to provide a cohesive approach to logistics support requirements.

· Plans, directs, coordinates, markets, and reviews assigned areas of the logistics program, which encompass the operations and activities related to logistical support provided to the Program Executive Office.

· Plans, coordinates, manages, directs, all assigned areas of the logistic program which encompass the operations and activities related to deployment, procurements, maintenance, supply, training, storage, transportation of material, operation of facilities and readiness.

· Manages assignment by ensuring that the functional directorates of Army Services Component Commands (ASCC) and other supporting organizational elements plans, program, budget, report and execute their respective portions of the assigned Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).

· Monitors the material readiness posture of deployed units and assures positive action is taken.

· Plans and develops requirements for the ILS programs for assigned system and/or similar equipment.

· Accomplishes responsibility for assigned ILS program areas by planning, directing, coordinating, and managing the efforts of the functional directorates and other supporting elements.

· Participates in mediations in cases of disagreement between functional directorate elements involved in the support of the system and/or similar equipment.

· Provides guidance and direction in all aspects of assigned ILS areas.

· Monitors and coordinates the maintenance functions for assigned systems and/or similar equipment.

· Develops timeframe schedules for distribution of the assigned equipment and for all maintenance support planning, including but not limited to, such items as maintenance engineering.

· Ensures provisions of concurrent repair parts and monitors publications programs and new equipment training.

· Reviews and evaluates to insure Modification Work Order (MWO) application on block basis, provides guidance to insure effective technical assistance program, insures monitoring of major items depot maintenance and overhaul programs both CONUS and OCONUS.

· Track shipment of parts from retrofit site to vendors, and Defense Distribution Depot Red River Texas (DDRT).

· Collects and maintains depot level, fielding level, and historical Modification data.

· Monitors and implements the establishing and maintaining of an accountability program to evaluate and coordinate the equipment improvement recommendation program.

· Provides updates to the Modification Management Information System (MMIS) database, to ensure all modifications applied to all equipment can be properly tracked in the MMIS.

· Ensures the functional and support elements engaged in the execution of actions and services meet assigned objectives in accordance with prescribed pre-established schedules and provides general policy guidance on assigned system and/or similar equipment for all ILS areas.

· Monitors and coordinates the material management aspects of the assigned systems and/or similar equipment.

· Performs studies of a logistical nature dealing with material and makes trips to depots and overseas as required.

· Assists the repair parts manager to assure spare parts availability; provides management direction for acquisition and distribution of major items and repair parts; maintains a working knowledge of the worldwide inventory of major items and repair utilized in assigned systems; provides appropriate liaison and required coordination with other Army Materiel Command (AMC) elements, overseas commands.

· Possess excellent oral and written communicative skills.

· Experienced in the Fielding and Modifications area.

· Understanding of AR and TB 700-142 and AR 750-10.

· Experienced working with Modified Table of Equipment and Allowances, Material Fielding Plans, Material Fielding Agreements, and Memorandum of Notifications.

· Knowledge of Class VII and Class IX equipment and repair parts.

· Knowledge of the New Equipment Training (NET) process as it applies to New Equipment Fielding. Familiar with all activities associated with modification planning, budgeting, and execution.

· May perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements: (Minimum Experience and Education)

• Bachelor's degree Required.

• Must possess at least 6 years Military experience and have the knowledge of the operation,

maintenance, and repair of Army equipment.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

• Must possess a valid United States Passport.

• May travel up to 30 percent to both CONUS and OCONUS military installations.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in the Fielding and Modifications of Army equipment.
  • Understanding of AR and TB 700-142 and AR 750-10.
  • Experience working with Modified Table of Equipment and Allowances, Material Fielding Plans,

Material Fielding Agreements, and Memorandum of Notification.

  • Knowledge of Class VII and Class IX equipment and repair parts.
  • Experience in the New Equipment Training (NET) process.
  • Experience and knowledge with MLRS and HIMARS Field Artillery Launchers.
  • Certifications in Logistics highly desired.
