Senior Information Systems and Data Analyst - Hybrid

Overview:

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Information Systems and Data Analyst to provide database, governance, enterprise architecture, and analysis support to a Federal Government client located in Germantown, MD. As an onsite representative of the company, a successful candidate must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with the client. Quality documentation and presentation skills are a must.

Responsibilities:

• Work with various data warehouses, databases, and applications to extract data and provide visualizations to support decision making.
• Develop analysis and reports using MS Power BI. Maintain, verify, and enhance existing MS Power BI reports and visualization to reflect updated data.
• Provide system administration support and data import/export from various sources to enterprise architecture (EA) repositories, as required. Develop and execute database back up and recover procedures. Design/develop additional functionality, as required.
• Interact with various software tools (Microsoft 365, MS Access, ServiceNow, Alfabet, Folio, etc.…) and system owners to share and integrate data.
• Facilitate and coordinate strategic data calls from internal and external organizations by working with component offices to gather the required data, analyze the data, and develop data call responses in a timely manner.
• Organize and communicate organizational business functions and capabilities to be included in the enterprise architecture repository and assist in expanding implementation to external component offices as requested.
• Identify and propose improvements to data collection processes to increase efficiency and accuracy of data.
• Support the review, analysis, and impact of IT governance activities to support organizational goals.
• Perform analysis of technical reference model (TRM) data to determine impacts to technical implementation solutions.
• Actively participate in monthly meetings and working groups to facilitate collaboration with other organizational entities.
• Develop presentations and support ad hoc reporting requests.
• Additional responsibilities could include attend daily planning meetings and provide status reports, monitor and respond using shared mailbox, and draft and submit weekly status report of accomplishments, planned activities, issues/recommendations, and deliverables/work products.

Qualifications:

• US Citizenship is a requirement for this position. Candidate may be subject to a security investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, information technology, or related field.
• Fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience.
• Strong database design, data analysis and visualization skills.
• Proficiency with MS Access and MS Power BI.
• Expert in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel).
• Quality documentation skills.
• Excellent presentation and communications skills.
• Ability to multi-task and successfully work in a diverse team.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with IT Portfolio Management concepts and the Folio application.
• Working knowledge and experience with SQL.
• Understanding of enterprise architecture concepts and Alfabet tool.
• Experience with technology business management (TBM) implementation.
• Knowledge of the NIST cybersecurity framework.

Location:

• Onsite in Germantown, MD two days per week. Remote three days per week. Fully remote may be an option depending on circumstance.
