Medical Records Clerk (F/T) - Reidsville, GA

Optim Medical Center - Tattnall is seeking a full time Medical Records Clerk for our Reidsville location. This is a split position between the CEO and Infection Prevention.

Job Requirements:

1. Organizes and Evaluates patient medical records

2. Scans charts and individual documents daily with end of day completion

3. Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness

4. Responsible for filing and retrieving organized medical records

5. Making necessary adjustments to guarantee documents are clean and legible when scanning into the system.

6. Responsible for chart deficiency tracking

7. Responsible for tracking and updating coding queues and Patient Management variance

8. Responsible for printing a daily patient discharge list and identifying all charts are received.

9. Responsible for daily retrieval of charts from various departments

10. Accurately collect and compile all information for quality improvement (PI) in a timely manner. Maintain a current spreadsheet at all times

11. Responsible for answering phones and handling request of information in a confidential professional and expedient manner.

12. Transport and Retrieve charts from storage buildings including participating in building work days. Ability to lift and stack boxes weighing >30 lbs

13. Maintain and log all shred boxes appropriately

14. Follows hospital requirements, policy & standards on confidentiality and release of protected health information

15. Reviews all charts for completeness before adding to shred box

16. Well versed with the electronic health record storage system being utilized

17. Staying compliant with all HIPAA requirements and regulations.

18. Knowledge of Fire & Safety processes and procedures.

19. Punctual and maintains good attendance record by Employee Handbook guidelines
