Meridian is seeking a Sr. Proposal Manager to support our growing needs within our Sales department. This is a remote home-based position with virtually no travel except for an occasional corporate event (less than 10%).

Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a ‘can-do’ attitude and enjoy rolling up their sleeves to balance their business skills with their creative skills to passionately drive whatever that day’s mission is to a successful completion.

This role is responsible for managing all phases of the proposal development process in response to formal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and requires great communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as the ability to manage schedules, be attentive to details, and adjust priorities as needed.

The candidate will need to be an active team player, prepared to embrace their responsibilities while maintaining open and frequent communication with other members of the Sales, Product Management, Legal, IT, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams.

Proposal Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage the full life cycle of RFP analysis from kick-off, response development and submission.
  • Develop and maintain the proposal schedule, and report on progress.
  • Manage and support the delivery of proposals to Federal, State, Local, and/or Commercial prospects.
  • Act as the central point for proposal development including helping to create win themes and differentiators; collect raw proposal materials from business unit team members, transform and consolidate team member input into clear and effective responses; and write and edit various content sections.
  • Work comfortably and effectively whether a member of a prime or subcontract team.
  • Work with business units to keep proposal template and required attachments, graphics and literature accurate, up-to-date and professional.
  • Develop compliance matrices and conduct compliance reviews, particularly for complex opportunities.
  • Participate in opportunity reviews and bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Update proposal software database to reflect the current responses to functional, technical and company information.
  • Update sales tools such as Salesforce, proposal calendar, etc. with timely and accurate information.
  • Achieve a basic understanding of the Meridian LMS to be able to do write, review, and validate proposal content.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the development of large, complex proposals in the software space.
  • Knowledge of proposal life cycle management.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills, including a fluency in English.
  • Skilled in analyzing RFPs and preparing outlines, schedules and proposal template.
  • Previous experience managing proposals of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Proposal experience should include managing proposal processes which incorporated subjects such as software, data security, hosting, privacy and implementation services.
  • Experience working in a small company environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive while working remotely and independently.
  • Must be capable of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with core MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with government proposals – either State / Local or Federal.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • APMP Foundation level certification.

The compensation for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
