Position: Service and Parts Cashier

Department: Administrative and Service

Position reports to: Service Manager

 

 

General Description:

 

The service cashier has the primary responsibility for closing service repair orders, opening and closing rental contracts, collecting payment, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

  1. Answering incoming calls to our service and rental department. Making outgoing marketing calls to our existing customers. Making and maintaining service department appointments.

  2. Close all completed repair orders and notify the service advisor or customer of the total charges.

  3. Check the accuracy of the repair orders making sure the correct amount of labor has been charged and corresponding parts entered on the repair order.

  4. Maintain the proper procedures for the collection of shop supplies, gas, oil and grease, and sales taxes.

  5. Prepare the proper billing information for charge and extended warranty repair orders including necessary copies and purchase orders.

  6. Maintain the filing system of repair order copies for quick retrieval of information.

  7. Reconcile daily the total of funds collected to the balance in the cash drawer, documenting any discrepancies.

  8. Ensure that each customer has been promptly assisted and notify management of any customers that might be dissatisfied with their bill or service work performed.

  9. If necessary, assist service advisors, the service manager and receptionist in taking customer appointments or messages.

     

     

     

    Skills Required and Physical Demands:

     

     

  1. Stable work ethic. Good telephone skills. ability to navigate and work with basic operating systems for appointment and rental management.

  2. Excellent math and clerical skills.

  3. Experience as a cashier customer service representative, or accounting clerk.

  4. Ability to communicate verbally with customers and other employees.
