Job Description:
Full-time, non-exempt. This project involves the scanning, indexing, data extraction, and transmission of images and data via secure web connection. Document preparation clerks are required to support various document processing steps, including, but not limited to, preparing documents for scanning, scanning documents, reviewing the optical character recognition process for accuracy, and performing data entry. Document preparation clerks operate scanning and data entry devices to support the indexing and electronic capture of paper-based claim documents into electronic format. Document preparation clerks perform a variety of document conversion tasks and work under the general supervision of a supervisor.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0–2 years of experience in the field or related area
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and the components of medical records (e.g., discharge summaries, progress notes, lab results, etc.)
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the document management field
  • High key strokes per hour
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must work well with coworkers and managers
  • Must be able to monitor email account daily
  • Must be able to work at computers for long periods of time
  • Must be able to stand, walk, complete simple hand grasps, reach with hands and arms, sit, talk, and hear
  • Repetitive motion is required
