Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant to take on a key role in our finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This position will report to the Accounting Manager and will involve both day-to-day accounting tasks and strategic financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget vs. actual results.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads and senior management.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
  • Assist in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
