Title: Site Reliability Engineer
Job ID: JK508182825

The Site Reliability Engineer will provide support to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to regulate the U.S. securities markets, including the security-based swap (SBS) markets. Tasks will support the SBS surveillance function. Task is to design, document, develop, test, deploy, operate, and maintain SBS market monitoring and surveillance services that recognize data patterns and provide actionable intelligence in the form of electronic alerts, notifications, and reports to the SEC. In addition to monitoring and surveillance, the task will support the Commission’s efforts to query and extract data held in internal and third-party database and join it with other data available within Commission to assist with risk assessments, examinations, and investigations.

The SME must have the following minimum qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer
  • Prior financial services and government experience (e.g., in financial agencies)
  • Minimum 3 years of financial surveillance experience (Preferred)
  • Prior financial surveillance and/or Swaps experience (Preferred) KP and other Developers
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in order books and order types of major US exchanges including NYSE, NASDAQ, BATS, and CME. (Desirable, but optional)
  • 5+ years of hand-on experience designing and deploying applications in cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven experience creating, managing, deploying and operationalizing container-based solutions in a cloud, Kubernetes architecture.
  • Proven experience solutioning and building data pipelines in WS
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, installation, configuration, and administration of cloud (IAAS, PAAS and SAAS) services-In depth knowledge of key AWS services like EC2, S3 etc.
  • Proven experience assessing clients workloads and technology landscape for Cloud suitability, develop business case and Cloud adoption roadmap
  • Proven knowledge of AWS platform and tools
  • Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive project from architecture standpoint
  • Knowledge of best practices and market trends pertaining to Cloud and overall industry to provide thought leadership (seminars, whitepapers etc.,) and mentor team to build necessary competency
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and trustworthiness with key stakeholders in client organization.
  • Experience provisioning and spinning up AWS Clusters
  • Experience to build scalable production systems (load balancers, memcached, master/slave architectures)
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Certification on AWS architecture desirable
  • Experience working with cloud AI platforms such as Amazon Sagemaker or Google AI Platform a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline a plus.
