A Day in the Life:

The Paralegal for the Real Estate and Transactions group will be responsible for carrying out duties in a corporate legal setting under the guidance of attorneys, which includes drafting submissions for airport bids, conducting an initial review on real estate-related matters and drafting documents as needed, developing matter information, and supporting attorneys as needed. This position is full-time and based in Estero, FL.This role reports to the Assistant Chief Counsel, Transactions and provides paralegal support focused on airport and real estate-related needs. This role is critical in supporting Hertz’s operations by directly handling legal requirements associated with operating on- and off-airport. 

This is an hourly paid opportunity starting at $30 an hour; commensurate with experience. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Communicate effectively up, down and across the company to gather information needed by the team, and to share information as appropriate. Requires gaining a thorough knowledge of company policies, practices and people, particularly as it relates to the work of the teams supported. Also requires building and maintaining good relationships with internal and external contacts. 
  • Own the airport bid submission process by working cross-functionally to gather and compile responsive information, draft submissions, and then handle submission logistics within the required deadline. 
  • Draft, edit, review, finalize, and support negotiation of real estate contracts and documents as requested (e.g., lease amendments and lease-related correspondence and notifications, agency and fixed-base operator agreements, and lease summary documents).
  • Manage day-to-day administration of Real Estate-related contracts.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders to gather and provide bonds, insurance certificates, and letters of credit as required by airport authorities.
  • Provide contract reporting to airport stakeholders as requested. 
  • Create, maintain, and update a bank of relevant templates to streamline contracting.

What We’re Looking For:

  • An Associates’ or Bachelors’ degree is preferred, but a GED or High School diploma is required; 
  • Seven+  years’ experience of increasing responsibility as a Paralegal in a law firm or corporate environment, preferably supporting the Real Estate practice area or complex contract management.
  • Experience in preparing submissions in response to requests for proposal. 
  • Paralegal Certificate is preferred, but not required.
  • Notary public certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Excel, AdobePro, Concur, Oracle Financials, PolicyTech, and WebEx, and a willingness to learn new technologies. 
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations and manage multiple inputs within a complex transaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Flexible and adaptable; ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations. 
  • Results driven, ability to make decisions and help solve problems.
  • Ability to drive process and organizational change.
  • Ability to motivate teams and keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
