Job TitleOperations Manager

Job Summary:Operations Manager is responsible for all activities in operations to maximize the long-term and short term profitability and goals of the organization.Areas of focus will be the entire facility ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of quality products in a manner that is consistent with company policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leading production team to create a work environment that promotes team member safety, food safety, and quality products.
  • Communicate to team members on plant operations and schedules.
  • Lead teams with compliance to OSHA, GMPs, HACCP, Development of team members in mind.
  • Ensure the completion of all quarterly training for team members.
  • Reviews production schedules and labor to achieve efficiency goals.
  • Reviews yield variance and productivity reports on a daily basis and reports to Plant Manager and all negative variances, along with corrective action.
  • Accurately and proper reporting of all costs of operation.Attains budgeted and cost reduction goals.Reports variance issues.
  • Ensures activity on all shifts is in accordance with company and plant policies, procedures, standards, specifications and philosophies.
  • Coordinates equipment and facility maintenance with Maintenance Department.
  • Works with other departments concerning operations to develop common understandings and goals in conjunction with plant objectives.
  • Works with Human Resources to ensure departments are fully staffed at all times and promptly communicates any vacancies.
  • Leads teams and applies root cause analysis to put in place corrective measures to any and all production opportunities.
  • Provides leadership for all supervisors and ensures they perform to their potential and work together to achieve departmental requirements and goals.
  • Approves all personnel changes within area of responsibility.
  • Works with Operation's Leadership to reduce team member concerns and promotes a spirit of cooperation among team members and between company and team members.
  • Ensures USDA requests and requirements are addressed and followed within compliance.Follows the plants Quality program.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience including supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team of resourceful and skilled team members.
  • Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Advanced computer skills including Google Suite.
  • Knowledge oftimekeeping system.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • Coaching and performance management experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends if needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including root cause analysis.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test and background screen.
