Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Matthews, NC

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000

Job Description:
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing our company's financial transactions and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Working closely with our Leadership team, you will create and analyze financial reports, process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices, and handle tax payments. The ideal candidate will have experience with Opportunity Zones and hold a degree in Finance or Accounting.

Responsibilities:

Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
Verify transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger
Bring the books to the trial balance stage and perform partial checks of the posting process
Complete tax forms and establish different accounts
Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
Define bookkeeping policies and procedures and develop systems to account for financial transactions
Maintain subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions
Advise management on compliance needs and monitor for variances from the projected budget
Requirements and Skills:

Proven bookkeeping experience and solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records accurately
Data entry skills with a knack for numbers and hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software
Proficiency in English and MS Office
Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
Knowledge of Opportunity Zones preferred
