Job Description
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Opportunity - Onancock, VA
Soliant Health is actively seeking a dedicated and certified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for an immediate opening at a school district near Onancock, VA. This position requires VA COTA Certification and is available from ASAP until 6/14/2024, with the potential for extension. The selected candidate will work full-time, 37.5 hours per week, supporting a caseload of 100 students across multiple campuses. The caseload is divided among three individuals: one Occupational Therapist (OT) and two COTAs. The OT will have a different caseload due to supervision and testing responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve children in a school setting as part of an itinerant team.
- Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop draft goals and draft plans of care for review.
- Provide direct occupational therapy assistant services to students based on caseload assignment.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and functional success.
- Utilize VA IEP software/systems for documentation and record-keeping.
Qualifications:
- VA Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Certification.
- Availability from ASAP to 6/14/2024.
- Full-time availability, 37.5 hours per week.
- Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt therapy interventions to meet the unique needs of each student.
