**Position Summary**


This position is located at Bridgestones BioRubber Process Research Center (BPRC) in Southeast Mesa, Arizona.


The high-level goals of the BPRC are below and the process engineer is integral to their success.


1) Lead the overall process development (biomass handling, solvent extraction, rubber purification, solvent recovery, etc) of extracting natural rubber from Guayule at pilot/demonstration scale


2) Lead the development of new processes and products associated with Guayule


3) Lead the scale-up of the pilot plant processes to commercial scale

Pay Range: $93,000.00 - $155,000.00


**Responsibilities**


+ Provide technical process and equipment guidance to the pilot plant operations team


+ Develop new products and processes


+ Collaborate with lab personnel to conduct lab scale trials


+ Conduct in-plant process/equipment trials and data analysis


+ Design new or modify existing equipment


+ Develop, program and implement process control logic changes


+ Support capital projects equipment specification, quotes, P&ID updates, control logic updates, hazard reviews, installation reviews, commissioning, etc


+ Lead, participate and document risk assessments and HazOps


+ Lead root cause investigations and develop corrective actions


+ Conduct equipment trials at vendors site


+ Complete monthly air permit compliance reports, quarterly research reports, assigned monthly safety inspections/audits


+ Summarize and present data to management


+ Liaise with other departments and sites to provide professional support and advice


+ Generate MOCs as needed for process/equipment changes


+ Generate solutions to PSM inspection and audit findings


**Desirable skills**


+ Programming Rockwell Plant PAX (ladder logic and function block) and working with associated Factory Talk software (Historian, Alarm & event, ect)


+ Leading small capital projects (< $500,000)


+ Leading HazOp reviews


+ Software: Aspen Plus, Autocad, JMP


+ Design of Experiments (DOE) and data analysis


**Minimum Qualifications**


Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering along with 5 years of process engineering experience ina PSM Chemical plant.
