Locatied Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) This site for excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs. Reporting directly to the Manager, Energetics & Propellant Engineering, this position will support Energetics and Propellant Development. Job Schedule: 9/80, Monday-Thursday 9-hour days, Friday 8 hours with every other Friday off. 7:00 am – 4:30 pm ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Lead, Material Process Engineer applies expertise to directly contribute to the development of new concepts and techniques in the area of energetic materials. REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in material science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or physics 9 years’ experience in propulsion field Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics Background in energetic materials, propellants Understanding of viscoelastic theory Understanding of safety testing and procedures US Citizen Degree in chemical engineering. Experience with energetics and propulsion is a plus.
