Certified Speech Therapist

We are an employee multi-service, non-profit organization serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. We have an opening for an experienced CERTIFIED SPEECH THERAPIST for our school located in Woodbury, NJ. Our school has 70 students with moderate to severe autism and other diagnoses between the ages 5-21.

· Responsible for implementation all speech and language requirements described in any pupil's IEP. This may include individual speech therapy, group therapy, etc.

· Serve as a consultant to the pupil's teacher and implement the student's program through the teacher as designated in the IEP.

· Meet regularly with the Educational Supervisor to coordinate his/her activities with the rest of the educational program.

· Where indicated in IEP's, works directly in classrooms providing integrated speech instruction.

· Participates in student intakes and meets with the Child Study Team when necessary.

· Keeps abreast of new techniques, programs and augmentative devices.

· Maintains professional, cooperative relations with auxiliary support staff members (ie. clinical staff, therapists, nurse, etc.).

This position is available on a full-time basis (8:15 am 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday)

Candidates must have:

· Current NJ Certification Speech Therapy.

· Bachelor’s Degree required.

· 1-2 years’ experience in a school setting.

· Strong communication, interpersonal skills.

Physical requirements: Standing, walking, bending, moving, carrying, kneeling, pulling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
