Trinity Christian Academy is seeking for highly motivated, detail-oriented, experienced upper school math teacher who is passionate who is passionate about God to join its growing faculty for the 2024-2025 school year.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach classes as assigned, providing effective and professional classroom instruction, assessment, and management.
  • Teach Algebra, Geometry, Functions & Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
  • Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Design and implement curriculum and instruction consistent with the mission, values, and standards established by TCA.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and on enhancing instructional practices and strategies.
  • Establish effective communications and relationships with students and parents.
  • Timely and professional completion of required reports and tasks (e.g., lesson plans, grades, correspondence with parents and students, examinations and quizzes, attendance, etc.).
  • Administer and develop Math specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
  • Assist with the preparation for SAT and ACT prep.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset about teaching practices and work toward professional goals and development.
  • Help to maintain school policies, regulations, and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain professional, collaborative, and collegial relationships with faculty and staff, as well as with community partners to the benefit of students and classes.
  • Support the work of the Head of School and administrative leadership team.
  • Participate in in-service workshops, meetings, sessions, and all other defined activities, as well as other areas of school life.
  • Represent the school at community or public events in the highest ethical Godly manner.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the administrative leadership team.
  • Responsible at all times for the supervision of students in your care during classes and for students generally at all times when on campus or off campus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledgeable of the developmental and academic needs of upper school (6th-12th) students.
  • Must possess a strong Christian faith and serves as a spiritual role model.
  • Must display a Christ-like attitude when relating with faculty, staff, parents, students and others.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of trust.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate well, both verbally and written.
  • Strong classroom management skills and expertise in differentiating instruction.
  • Ability to organize and maintain multiple responsibilities.
  • Deep dedication to learning and developing as an educator.
  • Collaborative work style paired with the ability to take initiative.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience from an accredited college, preferably with a major in Math.
  • At least two years of high school Math teaching experience.
  • Solid background in algebra I & II, geometry, and pre-calculus.
