Under the direction and supervision of the Engineering/Maintenance Manager conduct as a professional and exceptional Sewing Machine Technician eager to learn our Sewing Machines and implement 21st century Technology.
Responsibilities & Duties
• Conduct inspections, installations, repairs, and feedback to a variety of Sewing Machines from
the late 1940’s – 2010’s
• Identifies and participates proactively in learning opportunities.
• Proactively assists in the development, evaluation, and procuring of Sewing Machines with 21st
Century Technology.
• Proactively maintains and adequate inventory of parts, overall supplies, and current Sewing
Machines in production areas.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedure or processes impacting their work group
or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce overall cost.
Skills & Abilities
• Detail oriented, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot beyond the normal.
• System problem solver with root cause analysis who can implement effective solutions.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner to all branches of the company.
• Prior knowledge pertaining to alternative Sewing Machines and mechanical variables.
• Proficient utilizing hand or power tools.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical/electronic issues with Sewing Machines utilizing a multimeter.
• Through technical understanding of the complexity of 1940’s Sewing Machines.
• 85% Hands-On repairing production Sewing Machines and 15% clerical in procuring parts or new
Sewing Machines.
• Ability to disassemble/assemble 1940’s era Sewing Machines without consultation and manual
dexterity.
• Perform routine & emergency maintenance on 1940’s Sewing Machines.
• Overall understanding of a lock, chain, zigzag, and double or single stitch.
• Prior experience with Singer, Durkopp Adler, Consew, PFAFF, Juki, and THOR Sewing Machines.
Minimum Requirements
• Associate degree in a Technical Field or equivalent experience of 5+ years in a Sewing
Machine environment.
• Basic Computer Skills to include Microsoft (Word, Excell, Outlook), Teams, and Google
Drives.
• Entry level custom machining abilities utilizing shop equipment; mill, lathe, drill press,
bench grinder, calipers, dial indicators, and bore/depth gauges.
